Sam received his Masters in Counseling from Northern Arizona University,  a CACREP accredited program, and his Bachelors in English from Arizona State University.  Sam has 35 years of life experience as a former Division I athlete, a small business owner, successful family man, active youth coach, and various lay missionary works.  He has been married for 30 years and has eight children, and seven grandchildren. He is a level two trained Gottman Method Therapist, a trained Gottman 7 Principles Leader, and has continuing education in Treating Affairs and Trauma through the Gottman Institute. Sam founded Witness To Love, Family Counseling Services LLC in 2019.

His Christian belief and understanding of the dignity of the human person is foundational and is embodied within his counseling practice and philosophy. He is passionate about relationship building and the transformative power that healthy relationships bring to all individuals at every stage in life.

Sam specializes in couples therapy, pre-marital and marital, family life, affairs and trauma, men’s issues, spirituality and faith crisis', mid-life career changes and life transitions, as well as general mental health issues.

Sam is a firm believer that empathy, trust, and authenticity are essential to his relationship with his clients, empowering the client to reach their goals for healing.

Sam is currently working towards a certification in Gottman Method Couples Therapy.

In his spare time, Sam enjoys reading, hiking, and spending time with his family and friends.
